Virtual Reality Technology | Future is Virtual

You must surely have heard something or other about the virtual reality till now. Basically, this is not a new term, but it is something that has been around us for a quiet a long a time now. The difference today is that the term has got realistic meaning then it was few decade ago. It’s mostly a self explanatory term but today we have decided to provide some detailed explanation of virtual Reality technology and how how it will benefit us in near future.

What is Virtual Reality Technology?

Virtual Reality is  basically a augmentation of virtual environment right in front of our eyes with help of sophisticated instruments and sensors, where we can not only see objects, but also could interact with it up to certain level.

This is no more a science fiction but a reality in existence right now. It is often uses a wide range of applications, hardware and software all working in synchronization to achieve highly immersive visuals, providing depth in augmenting virtual 3D environment. The advancement of CAD software, graphics enhancer, head mounted displays; sensory gloves have helped to bring this technology in life.

Application of virtual reality technology

Below are some of the field how has already started the use of Virtual Reality:

1. Engineering:

A complex engineering model can be stimulated and studied in detail with the help of virtual technology. It helps to create a virtual model of nano to mega structure in reasonable scale, so that people can walk through it even before the foundation is laid. This will help to have clear picture of the final product and making it easy for everyone to understand the process well and fasten up the manufacturing process.

2. Architecture:

Virtual reality has been very well applied to architecture also, as it is applied to engineering. A complex building structure can be virtually created, studies and analyzed, before actually building it. Different pieces of software will then help to visualize and even test structural integrity and find flaws and rectify them at the earliest.

3. Gaming:

Gaming is the most promising field where virtual technology is going to make its presence, it is only going to bigger and better. Many proto-type and even commercially available virtual reality have made their way. People would directly be able to interact within game and enhancing the experience. Oculus Rift is one such device. Imagine how this could change the gaming industry like we know now. You can virtually be in the game and interact with the with other characters, or play any of your favorite sport, right from the comfort of your home.

4. Education:

Virtual reality will prove to be very useful in education field; student will be able to understand things in much better way, rather than just reading or seeing things, they would be able to feel and understand the fundamental. The more you actually see in working is better one can understand. Similarly, it will be much useful in higher education in the field of medical studies, engineering, space, etc. Then there will be no need to bisect a real animal or human to learn about its anatomy, a very effective method to learn thing for a start. Engineering students can make a virtual project and show its working efficiently, which is bit expensive and time consuming as per traditional method available right now.

5. Virtual Training:

A virtual stimulation could be created for training of military purpose, space exploration, etc. This will surely help to better train individuals and dramatically reduce the training cost associated with it. VR systems are much safer and, in the long run, less expensive then current training methods.

Virtual Reality technology is only getting better every coming year. Once we develop a more powerful software and hardware, virtual reality is going to be a booming industry about to make its present everywhere. Entertainment, medicine and research are few more field to benefit a lot from this.
